Your three treatment options

What comes to your mind when you think of Massage Therapy? Chances are good that you think of General Swedish Massage, where the client is fully or partially undressed and is covered by linens while the Massage Therapist performs the massage treatment. If that’s what you immediately pictured, the reason is that this is how most Massage Therapy is performed, but there are later native ways to perform massage therapy that can often be more appropriate for the situation and needs of the patient.

For example, you may be suffering from headaches, or may have stiff sore muscles in your shoulders or upper back. Perhaps you are on a tight schedule and just need a quick treatment session to take the stress out of your upper body.

For cases like these, the best treatment option may be the seated Chair Massage. Chair massage sessions are shorter than conventional massage, and since the patient remains clothed for the treatment, this is a convenient and inexpensive choice.

Another treatment alternative that I provide is deep/performance massage. In this approach, the patient remains clothed, is treated on the massage table, but is not draped with linens. This method enables the treatment session to include many techniques such as joint mobilizations and stretches that can be more difficult to incorporate in a traditional massage treatment session.

The patient is dressed to allow for freedom of movement and so that arms, legs and back are accessible. A female patient might therefore wear shorts and a sports bra during treatment.

Cancellation policy

Please not that once your appointment is scheduled, that time is reserved just for you. Since it can be difficult to rearrange cancelled appointment times on short notice I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Patients will be charged for missed appointments or appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice. Patients who are unable to keep their appointment because of a true personal crisis will be given special consideration.
